I haven't had a decent sail in the UK since Jan so I it was a pleasant
birthday present to have a good forecast after work. Headed down to
Weymouth as it was gusting 35 knots at Portland but it wasn't as windy at
Overcombe. Francisco Goya was there (not on the water) promoting his brand
but I was too keen to get on the water to hang around.
After asking around it seemed that 6m was the preferable size as it was
deceptively windy on the beach in the onshore conditions. It was a bit
iffy on the inside where the best ramps were (isn't that always the case)
but I was well powered up on the outside. A few big port tack jumps as
gybes off the wave to blow the cobwebs away then I had to go in to put
boots on as my feet were numb. A few more runs then I called it a night as
the wind was dropping.
An excellent birthday sail, let's hope it keeps up for the weekend.
